In 2014, Wilsons celebrity made its away over the pond in a more prominent way when she agreed to star as a character on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart an unreliable young woman with a dark past who falls for a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also featured Maura Terney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson in an interview with British Vogue back in 2015 stated that she was enjoying playing characters from two different viewpoints. Noah sees Alison as a confident sexy version. She sees her own self in a totally different way. In the inner Alison isn't confident and would rather blend in with the background. She added "I think America is such a moralistic nation and they're very judgmental. Everything that happens on the show is horrifying." Wilson, who left The Simpsons in 2018 was not forthcoming with details. I was tempted to go but I'm not allowed talk about why she stated in a CBS This Morning interview in August, 2018. Wilson has been working in the film industry in the last few years. In 2016, she appeared in the horror film I Am the Pretty Thing The House That Lives In and, in 2017, she played the cryptic character PT Stella in the sci-fi romantic comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties. To add more of the horror genre onto her film credits she is slated to star in the British film adaptation to The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller based on the book by writer Sarah Waters. Wilson is also the producer of the film.
